B-E-A-F T-R-E-E-S is about drawing, painting and celebrating the diversity of trees in Bournemouth. Susan Cunningham will be doing this by employing ideas and techniques from the Western tradition of 18th and 19th century landscape painting. This will involve drawing and painting in the open air (en plein air) at three gardens in the Boscombe area: Russell-Cotes tropical garden, Bournemouth Natural Science Society garden and Churchill garden. The art will reference trees we are familiar with, as well as the more unusual. You are invited to come and see her outside at work…whatever the weather!
Susan will be facilitating workshops on drawing trees. Drawing inspiration from “Drawing Trees and Nature’’ by the 19th century Victorian landscape artist James Duffield Harding.
